The bottom pack – off is installed in the lower flange of\u00a0the casing head spool and tubing head spool to\u00a0prevent the lower flange from being exposed to high\u00a0pressure.<\/p>\n

The bottom pack-off type ‘PBP1’ seals the annulus\u00a0pressure by injecting packing. The bottom pack – off\u00a0PBP – 2 is designed to give a positive annular seal with\u00a0pressure energized oversize O – Rings.<\/p>\n

For services at working pressures above 5,000 psi,\u00a0the ‘PP’ seal is used.<\/p>\n

When the bottom pack – off is used, the casing should\u00a0be cut 90 mm from the top flange surface of the\u00a0connecting spool.<\/p>\n
